First Church of Christ has a long and committed history of serving others locally, nationally and globally. Thanks to the generosity and work of our members we provide food for our hungry neighbors, create affordable housing, provide much needed medical care in Uganda, tutor elementary children in North Hartford to name but a few of our mission activities.
First Church also gives financial support to many mission and outreach organizations including; Hands of Hartford, Gifts of Love, Covenant to Care, Healing Meals
Beyond these important financial donations we seek to maximize the “hands on” mission opportunities we offer which provide meaningful connections and relationships with those we serve.
Current Opportunities to Serve:
Care Bag Ministry: prepares care bags with various items depending on the age of the child – from infant to teens – for children entering the care of the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Often times, most times, this bag is all that the child will have upon going to the foster parents home. Can you imagine the comfort a teddy bear or warm blanket or a yummy snack may bring to these children? Click Here for more information.
